La dottoressa Chighizola si occupa della diagnosi e della terapia delle diverse patologie reumatologiche, quali artriti infiamatorie, miopatie, connettiviti, artrosi, osteoporosi…

In particolare, ha focalizzato il proprio interesse clinico sulle connettiviti sistemiche quali sclerosi sistemica, sindrome da anticorpi anti-fosfolipidi, lupus eritematoso sistemico, connettivite indifferenziata, connettivite mista. Si dedica anche alla gestione della gravidanza in pazienti con malattie autoimmuni sistemiche.

L’attività di ricerca della dottoressa Chighizola si è concentrata su tre argomenti:

• Meccanismi patogenetici della sindrome da anticorpi anti-fosfolipidi
• Meccanismi patogenetici della sclerosi sistemica
• Gravidanza nelle malattie autoimmuni sistemiche
